CMU Schedule-O-Matic

What to do To use the Schedule-O-Matic, simply type course numbers in the fields of the form to the left and click 'Make Schedule'. There are many ways to customize the output by changing the settings and entering the course numbers in special ways. Look below in the 'Things to try' section for information on these options.
If you get an error
  • Check the HUB's schedule of classes (links below) to make sure the class you are looking for is offered for the appropriate semester
  • Make sure you type the full section name (some mini courses include numbers in the section name)
  • Email me if it just seems to be broken
Things to try
  • If you don't specify a section, all sections of a course will be displayed.
  • Select and copy your classes from the grades section of SIO and paste it into the box to the left. Make sure you select the correct semester!
  • Add an asterisk at the end of the course number (e.g. '73-100a*') and its units won't be included in the total.
  • You can bookmark the output page to pull up again later.
  • Courses occuring simultaneously show up side by side, so don't feel like you have to enter a perfect schedule.
  • Try fiddling with the different settings, you can change the color scheme and control what is printed within the schedule, among other things.
  • If you are printing the schedule out and would like the color backgrounds to show up (and they don't seem to be), try looking for a 'Print Background' option in the 'Print' or 'Page Setup' dialog boxes.
  • If your schedule still doesn't look good when printed, try 'Turn table borders on'.
  • To view all sections for a given lecture, enter the course number, a '+' and then the lecture number (e.g. '18-240+1'). To view all sections overall, enter the course number and a '+' without a lecture number.

The original Schedule-O-Matic was written by Peter Pawlowski. This version was written by and it is currently being hosted by Ben Buchwald. The name was kept the same (and text and design plagerized) to protect the innocent. Comments and suggestions are, of course, heartily welcomed, just email and chances are I'll do it for you (provided it's not too ridiculous).
